Real Life Information
My real name is Kinsey Hines and I am a resident of a relatively small city in East Central Indiana. I have been a part of fandom as a member of various Trek Affiliated organizations since 1992. I am a 39 year old female and have been a Trek afficianado since around 1975. I remember the Animated Series when they were airing on Nickelodeon in the late 70’s. I have always been primarily an engineer during my entire time in fandom, as well as serving as a Command level officer in more than one organization. I have a penchant for theoretical Star Trek engineering and love to create new systems based off things see, mentioned, or alluded to in the various Star Trek series.
Former Affiliations
My former affiliations include Star Fleet Division (1992-1998), Endless Realms (1996-1999), IKEF (2002-2004), IKV Chapel (2002-2005). I have also been involved informally with the local Starfleet Command unit; The USS Endeavour, and have also participated actively until recently with Starfleet Command UK.
Why El-Aurian?
Why did I choose to identify my character as an El-Aurian? Primarily, I would have to say the uniqueness of the race. Admittedly, during my initial tenure in fandom, I was a half-Vulcan half-Betazoid hybrid. It fit mostly with my personality. When I joined IKEF, I decided that I wanted to recreate my character as an El-Aurian, complete with a new name. Again, why you ask? El-Aurian fits with my conceptualization of my character designing engineering systems that are valid in the Star Trek Universe, but well beyond the design limits of the current Federation (Stardate 60823 – October 23, 2006). Plus, my real-life temperment fits with the mysterious nature of the El-Aurian species. There is enough information available from the show about the El-Aurian species to know that they have been warp capable for several hundred years, and it made sense to claim original El-Aurian inception of many technologies later developed, assimilated, and whatnot.
I am currently not a member of any fan organization, other than this site. I am rather tired of the politics that seem to rule fandom that would bring shame to the name Roddenberry.
Quick Character Facts
I have quite a bit of my autobiography finished, which is available to read, but I will share the following brief details about myself.
My name is Kionna Shemira. I publicly claim to be 1739 years old and I am an El-Aurian engineer. My appearance is that of a 1.57 meter tall Japanese Human around age 35 Earth Years. I have a long history and background in command, business, and religion. I have ran my own businesses for several hundred years, including, but not limited to Starship Shipyards, Distillery of fine potent potables, advanced holo-technology, replication systems, communication systems, computer systems, and nanotechnology. I am also a high cleric.
My temperament is generally congenial, but if you cross me, my family, or my honor, I suggest you hide in a black hole; and even that may not be safe for you. I will track you down. Believe me when I say I have the means and the technology to find you, and you will face my wrath. Honor me, and I shall honor you.
I have a strong hatred of the Borg, even though I left El-Auria before their last attacks. I spent over a hundred years defending my planet from their rogue attacks before we left for the Beta quadrant. A majority of the technology that Shemira Systems develops is incapable of assimilation by Borg. This is a safeguard built in to ensure the safety of our products.
In the last 100 years or so, I have been spending a majority of my time just enjoying life with my life-mate Kucas. My pleasure resort on Risa is doing wonderfully and I’ve spent considerable time there when not working on my engineering designs.
